Miniature Flower Cart- made with Polymer Clay

Polymer clay is easily available in an extraordinary range of colors, this clay is cured permanently by baking at a low temperature in an ordinary home oven or toaster oven. Once baked it can be cut, sanded, painted and drilled. Polymer clay is nontoxic and has very fine texture that is ideal for making miniatures.

I use Sculpey Premo for most of my miniature project as it has medium texture, hold its shape well and is very strong after baking.

Here for this project, I used wood blend for fence by mixing two shades of brown and little bit of yellow and black. As for flowers its just random mix and match.

Hope to see you soon,

Paper Quilling -Lily with DragonFly

Paper Quilling, which is also known as paper filigree is a beautiful art form that involves the use of thin strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quilling tool to create a basic coil shape. The paper is glued at the tip and the coil shaped, these shaped coils are arranged to form flowers, leaves, and various ornamental patterns similar to ironwork.
These quilled designs can be used in card-making, scrapbooks or other decorative crafts.

We all Paper Quillers just love Inna D's work,I think she one of the best quilling artist, her designs are simple yet very beautiful.
I wanted to try her designs by myself,so here i am with this Lily with Dragon Fly project, all credit goes to Inna for her design,u can visit her beautiful blog and admire all the beautiful stuff she makes and learn few tricks and tips for paper quilling.

Table for Two - Joy of Jumbled Junk- Tutorial

Recycling or Upcycling as we call it, is finding reuses for old items, which is good for the environment and saves money but it also satisfy human creativity most.

Well this is miniature too, but not true to any scale but I guess close to 1/10 scale.

It all started with leftover spoons from my daughter's birthday party and old rusty soap pump holder, which I discovered in my junk box.

I would like to the share procedure to make this cute little table, it’s a quick and easy project I made this set with whatever junk i had and finished within 2 hours :)

Material Required

1. Plastic Spoons
2. Screws or toothpicks if you want
3. Lid Cover or a piece of cardboard
4. Base - i used soap pump holder, you can use thread spool or small tin or candle holder or anything you can imagine as table base, even toothpicks glued to the lid cover
5. Piece of Fabric for upholstery(Optional) I used a piece of old fuzzy Shawl
6. Aluminum wire (Optional)
7. Color of your choice
8. Candle
9. Glue of any kind, I prefer hot glue gun for quick fixes

Procedure

1. Light a candle and place or spoon over it and bend it in L shape, as soon as it starts to melt, then quickly place spoon in container of water, so it will stop melting instantly, please be very careful. If you are working with kids please skip melting and bending part, you can break or cut spoon around its neck and glue both parts in L shape position.

2. Glue four Screws to the Spoon to make its legs.

3. Add wire details, as desired.

4. Color it or stain it in wood finish, let it dry completely.

5. Hot glue a piece fabric to upholster seat cover and your chair is ready.

6. For table, paint the base in your choice of color, let it dry completely.

7. Glue a piece of fabric or paint the Lid Cover.

8. Glue base to the lid cover let it dry.

9. Display along with dollhouse miniature and enjoy.

That’s all for now Friends :)

Moss Rose - French Beading Technique

Bead flowers, also known as French beaded flowers,These flowers are made by wrapping wire around several rows of seed beads. Any size of beads can be used, but 11/0 or 10/0 seed (rocaille) beads are the mostly used.

Beaded flowers can be used wherever you would use silk flowers. They can be used to make pretty flower arrangements and to create beautiful hairpieces for special occasion outfits. You can also use your flowers to decorate your home by adding them to napkin rings or holder, candle holders and wreaths etc.

This is my first attempt at French Beading,
Here I used size 11/0 seed beads with 28 gauge artistic wire in red and green color,18 gauge pre cut stem wire for stem,30 gauge paddle wire for assembly and green silk embroidery floss to cover stem.
For this project I used basic French Beading technique for leaves, where as I use loop techniques for flower, since it was small flower, however for larger flowers basic French Beading technique can be used with slight variations.

Miniatures are always fun to make and collect, hardly anybody can resist these little cuties :)

I used Sculpey Premo in white for the tea set and painted those little floral motifs with regular acrylic colors after curing the set in oven for 15 minutes.

As for tray I blended two shades of browns, little bit of black, gold, flesh and cream Sculpey Premo to get the wood effect.
I used an empty ball pen refill for the texture.

I used 1/12 scale for this Tea set,so perfect for any dollhouse :)

Miniature Pitcher and Tray Set made with Polymer Clay

I love playing with all sorts of clays but polymer clay is the best clay I ever worked with, its texture is so fine and smooth. Polymer clay is oven bake clay which never dries out.
Polymer clay is available in number of brands and hundreds of colors.

I mostly use Sculpey Premo for my miniature projects, I chose Premo in Gold color for this project as wanted to keep it simple yet attractive.

I hand sculpted pitcher and tray, as for rest of tools I used acrylic rod for rolling the clay, Tissue or NU blade for cutting polymer clay and empty ball pen refill for texture on tray.

This li'l cutie stand for almost an inch and tray is 1X2 inches
This project is little tricky as I used 1/12 scale or standard dollhouse size,as manipulation for detailing in miniatures is bit tough but I had loads of fun while working on this project and happy with end results.

Hope to see you soon.

Happy Crafting,

Shahana.
