Whenever I need quick craft pick me up, I like to do Paper Quilling. Paper Quilling is fun, and easy craft for all ages. You just need some paper strips to get started,i made this project without quilling tool, but if you want a quilling tool, you can buy it from any craft store or make one by yourself, as for me,I like to make coils by rolling paper strip between my fingers.
I got my inspiration from fellow Craftziner member Aanchal, from the moment I laid my eyes her quilling project, I knew I had to make one for myself but with my own design and style, of course. I finished this project within three days, but in excitement I forgot to take in progress pictures :( sorry for that.
I could not find floral punch of right shape and size so instead I made polymer clay flowers, hmmm I can’t keep my hand off my clay but love the way these flowers turned out, Ahh so pretty.
I used husking techniques for the leaves; again I layered them with different hues of green, randomly.
Tall grass is mixture of paper, plastic and dry stems. For cattails I coated purple plastic strip with white glue then dusted off with semolina.

My favorite lily pond creature is the Dragon Fly, I made with seed beads and wax paper wings, standing on thin transparent plastic (I used a plastic cord thingy which attach tags to clothes)
Do not miss the buzz, there is also a tiny bumble bee (isn't she so cute), again seed bead body with wax paper wings.
Well I am officially in love with my lily pond; hope you will like it too. Now only I can keep it safe from dust and my toddler girl hmmmm
See you soon.
Have a creative day,
Hugs,
Shahana.

So, here I am with this cute little Lily Pond, which started as stack of old CDs, Why CDs??? Well no reasons, I just try to incorporate upcycling in all my projects. I stacked 5 CDs on the left side and 10 CDs on right side to create different levels and one small CD overlapping the lower level.
For the water I used Frisker crimper to create wave-like effects, I randomly layered several hues of blue for each coil, so each water coil is different from the other.
Border is made up of two layers of grayish off white rectangular coils to create boulder boundary look.

Frogs were made with 3D Quilling technique, where I made two round tight coils and then made them into dome shape by pushing inside part with pencil. Glued them together, added other details.
